Vitamin G

My momma told me lots of things, some sprinkled with good advice

I listened to her faithfully, even follered it once or twicet

She said, “Son, now listen to heal most naturally

Take your daily dose of Vitamin G”

Chorus

Vitamin G puts the sparkle in your eyes

Vitamin G my mom don’t tell no lies

If you feeling slightly peak-ed

It might be what you seek-ed

Kneel down here with me, take some Vitamin G

Well, you know about Jesus, well I’m his biggest fan

He taught his disciples “always love your feller man”

God is there inside you, happy you will be

If you first drink down a dose of Vitamin G

Vitamin G, like sunshine in a can

Vitamin G, give your insides a good tan

Even guitar playin’, daily prayin’ folk singers just like me

Can benefit from a dose of Vitamin G

Vitamin G makes you feel real good, Vitamin G, get God power under y’er hood

Don’t feel lost and lonely just complete the trinity

You and Jesus Christ and Vitamin G

And when I get myself in trouble, I say God, make mine a double

A double heapin’ helpin’ o’ vitamin G

Vitamin G, like sunshine in a can

Vitamin G, give your insides a good tan

Even guitar playin’ daily prayin’ folk singers just like me

Can benefit from a dose of Vitamin G

I had the hook for a long, long time before I even tried to write this song.

Years of incubation, living in Texas, and sense of humor combined and once I got started it was pretty quick.

We just cut loose and had lots of fun with the arrangement, harmonies, and Jeff had the opportunity to whip out his upright bass.
